Overnight Oats
Overnight oats are one of our favourite breakfast foods. Why? Because they are quickly made the night before ensuring more seamless mornings, they can be adapted to changing taste buds and seasons, they are nutritious and they are just plain tasty. The base for overnight oats is simple (see below) and you can let your imagination soar with add ins. Some examples: hemp seeds, chia seeds, flax seeds, walnuts, pepitas, fresh/frozen fruit, coconut, maple syrup or honey to sweeten to taste. Below you'll find hte standard base and then our favourite mixes. Enjoy
Base:
1/2 cup oats
1/2 cup milk of choice (almond, cashew, coconut, dairy etc)
Pinch of salt
1/4 tsp cinnamon
Few drops vanilla
Mix in an airtight container or mason jar and let sit overnight!
Blueberry: 2 tsp maple syrup, 2 tbsp hemp seeds, 1 tsp chia seeds, 2 tsp flax seeds & 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
PB & Banana: 2 tsp maple syrup, half a chopped banana, 1 tbsp peanut butter
Tropical Banana Berry: 2 tsp maple syrup, half a chopped banana, 1/4 c sliced strawberries or raspberries, 1 tbsp unsweetened coconut
