White peppercorns are from the same plant as black and green peppercorns, but they are hulled so that just the inner fruit remains. In order to expose the fruit, they are soaked in a brine and the skin is rubbed off. White pepper has a milder, more delicate, and slightly musky flavour compared to black pepper.
