Perch Creek Habitat
On this week of Let's Get Outside - Perch Creek trails! This is one of my favourite loops in Lambton. It generally has little foot traffic and is wonderful to revisit for each season - although very buggy in Summer and gets muddy so appropriate footwear recommended (and that's half the fun!). Off on a side trail you can find the three sisters oak trees that is an incredibly restorative place to visit.
The Perch Creek Habitat Management Area is owned by the County of Lambton and managed by the Conservation Authority. This 200 acres property includes floodplain and upland forest, hedge rows open meadow and wetlands. Over 5 km of trails takes the hiker through a variety of habitats.
Always remember to:
- Pack out what you pack in
- Walk single file when passing
- Yield to hikers coming uphill
- Respect wildlife
- Stay on the trail
Happy hiking & stay safe!
