Mandaumin Woods Nature Reserve

Hey friends! I've been slacking on my posts between weekend hikes and yardwork but I've got lots in reserve!

This week is Mandaumin Woods Nature Reserve and one of my favourite local hikes. This hike is just off of Mandaumin Road when you head south from Confederation and is a short 1km loop through a well maintained woodlot. This is a significant natural space for our area and features traditional Carolinian zone flora and fauna like sugar maples and elms, and one of my favourite spots to see the spring trillium bloom. Lambton Wildlife owns and maintains the property, you can find more about the local naturalist organization here.

Happy hiking!

Always remember to:

  • Pack out what you pack in
  • Walk single file when passing
  • Yield to hikers coming uphill
  • Respect wildlife
  • Stay on the trail
